Anyone that knows her well will tell you that Yaz is constantly happy – a true joy for others to be around, whether they work with her, for her or are customers of a brand she is leading. This, of course, is because she only finds herself in leadership positions for brands that she is passionate about. Her genuine, direct-leadership style has had her in charge of multiple stores for companies like White House | Black Market and Cache, who’s respective brands exude first-class style.
Born in Puerto Rico, her family moved to the U.S. when she was just five years old. They landed in Attleboro, Mass., just outside of Boston, where Yaz grew up and graduated high school. This is also where her passion for fashion began in multiple positions she held for The Guess Store as a retail associate and model.
It was in college, however, that her passion for beauty went to another level. Yaz attended Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island to study Fashion Merchandising. At JWU, she began to learn the foundations of the industry she would grow to love, and was able to parlay this experience into multiple jobs and opportunities that have allowed her to see the industry from all sides (management, sales, and buying).
Now as a full-time mother of three beautiful children (Savanah, Sofia and James IV), Yaz is married to Jim Cavale, who served as the President of Iron Tribe Fitness, a nationwide community fitness brand based in Birmingham, Alabama, with gyms across the United States. In 2010, Yazmin began working from home, doing freelance makeup artistry for weddings and big events, along with spray tanning and body hair wax removal. She has served over 150 women over the past 5+ years while having the flexibility to be with her children at all times of the day.
Her variety of experience has given her a diverse skill set that she loves to share with other women, whenever she is able to take breaks from her main gig as a full-time mother-of-three.
In addition to her store management experience, Yaz also has a great deal of experience with makeup artistry for brands like Laura Mercier and Estee Lauder, along with leading a desk for Trish McEvoy makeup from 2004 to 2005; a skill she still uses to this day, as a makeup professional with a wide range of clientele. For some time, she actually handled Trish McEvoy’s personal appearances in multiple U.S. markets! From 2005 through 2010, Yaz managed stores for Cache and White House | Black Market in multiple malls within the Birmingham metro area.
In total, Yaz garnered more than 10 years of experience in fashion retail and makeup artistry, before she married her husband and the two began their family.
